In this webinar, Clare and Dawn discuss how Mobilise have looked at innovative ways to deliver Carers Assessments using AI and the challenges and opportunities that this presents. Why? The number of carers is expected to grow by 1million over the next 10 years. People like you and me — caring for an elderly parent, spouse or child with a disability or illness. According to new NHS England data, there was a drop of 6% in overall expenditure in support for unpaid carers in 2023/4, compared with the previous year. Once you’ve identified as a carer, and we know that identification is a huge barrier, the second challenge is typically a lengthy wait for assessment. The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) surveys reported that between 400,000 and 500,000 carers are waiting for an assessment, review, direct payment or care package at any one time since 2021. That’s a lot of carers not accessing support. The trouble is, we’re wasting valuable and vital opportunities for “early intervention” with support and we know that the majority of these people ( 76%) just need information , advice and guidance. #carers #AI #assessments #adult #socialcare
