(Ride) Bronx Bus Bx19 Riverbank Park to NY Botanical Garden (full route)

City: New York City Transit System: MTA Riding the Bronx Bx19 bus bound to the New York Botanical Garden, during day time, on the right side of the bus. This is a full route. This is my first full route recorded in the Bronx, and I was surprised how the customs vary from other parts of town. Not sure if this is boro-wide, or if it's specific to this bus route, but, this was not a Select Bus Service ride, still, a lot of passengers embarked from the rear doors. I think in an attempt to avoid fare evasion, sometimes the bus driver wouldn't open the doors in the rear part of the bus, forcing passengers to get off from the front door. But still, from what I could tell, about 2 in every 10 passengers paid the fare (even the ones embarking through the front door). I don't have an opinion on fare evasion per se, but it was remarkable to me how riders in different parts of the city behave differently. I recorded this route close to 2pm during fall, so, there's a lot of sun glare on the windows. If I ever do this route again, I'll try to get it at mid-day when the images are much better. The full footage time was about 1h07m, but the edited version was cut down to 31 minutes, which means that more than half of the time spent on this route is just stopped time. One last thing that I have never seen happening: at the Southern Boulevard and East 180th St. stop, the driver got a call (there's a phone behind the driver's seat) from the dispatcher saying he was too ahead of schedule, so, we needed to stay stopped at that bus stop for about 10 minutes.
