The point of this Documentary was to highlight the rich culture of the Ogiek, one of the Kenya's indiginous hunter and gatherer Community.Maurice (Story Director)travelled to Maasai Mau forest where he stayed for three days in the home of Memusi Ng'usilo, the vice of the Ogiek community. During the three days,Maurice together with Memusi, his brother and Ne phew managed to engaged in various activities like hunting, gathering fruits and vegetables, harvesting honey amongst other activities that the Ogiek community undertake as part of their day to day activities. The documentary also captures on how the Ogiek relates with the forest and how they depend on it for almost all aspects of their lives. For instance the breakfast they had was made of tree backs used as tea leaves and honey used as sugar. The supper was from the vegetables they gathered during after along and unsuccessfull hunt within the forest. The group also did go for honey havesting and gathering fruits in the forest,Memusi, the host went a head to explain on the importance of various trees in the forest and how the Ogiek people relate with the forest. He further clarified that the Ogiek community does not engage in any deforestation activity in the forest for that is where they drive their livelyhood. The documentary also captures how the Ogiek deal with health matters when Maurice fell sick on the second day of his stay.He was given various herbs sourced from the forest as his medication. The documentary shows a little that is told and it is also a captivating story of a community although little may be widely known about their lifestyle.
