This is Tana Toraja. Located in the heart of Sulawesi, Indonesia, Tana Toraja is known for its traditional architecture, breathtaking scenery, and unique death rituals. Batutumonga is a village in Toraja that is known for having one of the most beautiful views in all of Indonesia. We took a 40 minute motorbike ride from our guesthouse and then hiked at night in order to see the sun rise above the clouds. Join us as we attempt to hike an unmarked and unmaintained trail alone in pitch-black darkness with no obvious destination in sight… After we came down from the viewpoint, we headed over to walk on some beautiful rice terraces. Something we loved about Toraja was how peaceful it was and how we could so easily explore on our own without encountering a single other tourist.
