This roundtable discussion, moderated by Emma House (Oreham Group), will delve into the evolving landscape of digital reading practices. Panelists will share their expertise on diverse aspects of digital reading: Paweł Kuczyński, Ph.D., will discuss reading habits in Poland. Michalis Kalamaras will explore the digital transformation of the book industry, drawing on his experience as the founder of the ebook and audiobook analysis website eAnagnostis.gr. Nathan Hull will share is UK perspective. Moderator: Emma House is an international publishing consultant with 25 years’ experience in the industry. She has held senior positions at the London Book Fair and The Publishers Association. Her business spans events curation, project management, research and business development. Emma is a regular speaker at international publishing conferences, and consults with book fairs, tech companies, and publishers. She is the project manager of an adult literacy initiative ‘Quick Reads’ for The Reading Agency and is the chair of ‘SNSI’ – a coalition of academic journal publishers. She is also vice-chair of the Publishing Training Centre in the UK. publishing initiatives. Panelists: Michalis Kalamaras has more than 15 years of experience as a book professional. He is a publishing consultant, Head of Marketing and Content and partner at Thinking, an Athens-based consulting, design and technology agency working with publishers, bookstores, and cultural institutions in their digital transformation. He founded eAnagnostis.gr, a news and analysis website on ebooks and audiobooks. Paweł Kuczyński, PhD, is a sociologist, researcher and lecturer at Civitas University in Warsaw. Scholar of the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris and Harvard Business School in Boston. His research projects relate to social movements, the process of radicalization and reading practices. Nathan Hull is chief strategy officer at Beat Technology, a company specialising in building tailor-made subscription and retail platforms for publishers, including Fabel’s offer in Norway, Skoobe’s in Germany and Chapter’s in Denmark.
