I am reviewing Ambutech’s offerings of cane tips for the long white cane. I will be demonstrating a selection of rolling cane tips and non-rolling cane tips, Viewers with a vision impairment can add to their mobility cane. The assortment of Ambutech cane tips offered in an array of styles, designs, formats, and colors, (available for the long white cane / white mobility cane), give visually impaired cane users an opportunity to pick cane tips for their desired cane technique – albeit, constant contact) two-point touch, or both. *I will also address my concern regarding and directed to a nuisance ‘Troll/Trolls’ who have nothing better to do than pick on People and hate on their Channel, so they were put on BLAST before getting to the purpose of the video.* Basically, the cane tip hooks on to a loop of elastic cord which runs through the inside of the cane for a hook style tip, or slides over the end for a slip on tip, and is designed to be changed as they wear out, which are easily replaceable. Just as there are canes / white canes that come in colors other than white, there are cane tips white cane tips which come in black, red, or other colors as well, that can provide enhanced contrast against different types of surfaces and terrain for low vision cane users. There are many cane tips out there intended for a variety of purposes, even walking off road. The type of mobility cane tip used on a white cane can vary depending on a person's needs and the environment they are navigating. I often gravitate to one of the roller tip options which allows my cane tip to move from side to side on the ground smoothly without getting caught on every crack or small hole. When selecting cane tips for your mobility cane, keep in mind, a downside to some cane tips are, they can sometimes easily get caught on the surface you are navigating. For this reason, you'd want to exercise concern when choosing white cane tips relative to your preferred method of blind cane travel, as some long cane tips are great for the Two-Point Touch technique and others are great for the Constant Contact method. There are also tips suited for both techniques. I am reviewing what’s available through Ambutech as I use their canes exclusively, but not all cane tips are the same. Granted there are some Countries that may call some Ambutech cane tips by different names, but it’s important to note, although there are different Brands of canes / blind canes and cane tips / blind cane tips for the long white cane, a mobility cane tip made by one manufacturer may not fit on a mobility cane made by another. Many cane tips for the blind are available with a number of different profiles for people to use depending on terrain, technique, activities, and more, they will be navigating. Different cane tips are used for different terrains and with specific cane types. For example, a probing cane / white cane is designed to detect obstacles and changes in terrain ahead of you, it’s lightweight for easy maneuvering without causing fatigue, long enough to reach ahead and warn of obstacles, and Have a tip that glides smoothly along the ground.
