This video is a short presentation of computing the displacement of a vessel where she has to be lighter at anchorage due to draft limitation at the berth of which she has to float in a DW density of 1.011 t/m3. The vessel could not directly be allowed to go straight at berth due to its heavy draft, instead, she had to anchor at SW to meet the draft limitation of 9.00m SW at berth. A formula is applied to obtain the exact displacement through interpolation and the end result will lead to the “draft” of the vessel to which she is floating. It will make it easy for the Chief Mate to compute the effects of density about which she floats with ease. Just follow the procedures as explained in the video.
