Love cooking, but hate it when the galley turns into a sauna? You know what they say, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen... We discovered the Mr D Thermal Cooker back in 2010 at the Southampton Boat Show. It seemed too good to be true: just heat the pot on your galley stove to simmering point, then turn off the gas, place it in the thermal cooker and let it slo-o-o-w cook for the rest of the day, or even overnight, while you go out and sail. And the added bonus? We get to save on gas consumption too. We've been using Mr D regularly ever since. Mostly for curries, casseroles and cassoulets, but Liz also bakes bread in it and there are plenty of recipes available online for things like roasting a chicken or baking cakes.
