This lens is actually the super popular 9mm f/2.8 lens but Cine version. I have done a video with the EOS M50 and the 9mm f/2.8 when I was in San Francisco. It was such a fun lens. So what’s the different with this Cine version. First of all, the build quality has improved. The filter thread has changed from 49mm to now 55mm. The focus rotation seems to stay the same as the photo version 9mm. But the most important bit was the focus breathing. The Cine version doesn’t shift the image. It makes the focus pulling a lot nicer. Over all, it is a pretty cool little cine lens. It was fun to play with. Even though the image quality between photo version and cine version are identical. But for me, I would pick the Cine version still. Because both were manual focus anyway. But focus breathing is more important to me.
