Location: City of Bellbrook Fire Station No. 22 System: Bellbrook Testing schedule: First Mondays at noon, weather permitting Testing time: 12:01:10 PM (1 minute late) Cycle when tested: 3 minute attack on even months, 1.5 minute attack on odd months Cameras used: Canon PowerShot SX540HS (tight shot & audio), Canon PowerShot SX620HS (wide shot) Recording distance from siren: 160 feet Loudness: Very loud - 116.3 dBC, 114.7 dBA Temperature: 52°F Other enthusiasts present: Connor (@Thunderbolt1000Tfan ), Kurt (@SF57_Sirens ) Other notes: For the first Monday this month, we were joined by Kurt at this new 14V-B in Bellbrook. This siren, along with another 14V-B at the water tanks off Ridgeway Road, were installed this past October by Table Rock Alerting Systems. These two sirens would not be here if it weren't for Kurt convincing his town to get sirens, so huge shout out to him for that! It was raining a little while we were here, so I set up my cameras underneath a tree to shield them from getting too wet. Honestly tho, I'm kinda glad we came here when the weather was overcast because the bright yellow paint seems to contrast the clouds fairly well. This one was pretty loud, especially from a distance; my decibel meter registered 107 dBC from standing a little over 250 feet from it, and 116.3 from right around where I was set up. Like with a lot of other Sentries we've been to, it didn't really seem to get all that much louder when standing right underneath it. This is probably on the louder side of Sentries we've been to, although still not nearly as loud as the 40V2T. Just before this siren starts, you can hear Washington Township's 2001's firing up, and then while this is winding down you can hear Kettering's RM's at the end of their alert cycle. For some reason, there was like a 2 minute gap between alert and attack this month, and we were beginning to think they weren't going to do attack before they finally wound up again. The attack ambiance from Kettering sounded really cool in person. Enjoy! Follow me on Instagram: @buckeyenotifications
