President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sympathy to traders and residents of Kano following the devastating fire outbreak at the popular Singer Market. The President directed a thorough investigation into the incident and assured victims of Federal Government support after the inferno destroyed goods and stalls, leaving many small-scale business owners counting heavy losses. In another major development, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially released the timetable for the 2027 General Elections. According to INEC, the Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on February 20, 2027, while Governorship and State Assembly elections are scheduled for March 6, 2027 (in 28 states). The commission also proposed a massive ₦873.7 billion budget for the elections, citing provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act 2022. Meanwhile, Minister of Works David Umahi predicted that the South-East geopolitical zone will deliver 90% of its votes to President Tinubu in 2027, urging political strategy and alignment ahead of the next presidential race. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has also vowed to reclaim FCT Area Councils, with Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu leading grassroots mobilization efforts in Abuja ahead of the February 21 council elections. In security-related news, former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai is facing growing calls for investigation after alleging that the phone of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu was bugged — a claim that has sparked national controversy. #Tinubu #KanoMarketFire #INEC2027 #NigeriaElections #2027PresidentialElection #Umahi #APC #ElRufai #NuhuRibadu #NigeriaPolitics #BreakingNewsNigeria #MegastarMagazineTV
