FREE Diagrams + Tabs + Backing Tracks To Accompany This Video: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder... 🎸 Learn guitar. Build fluency. Create music. Links + resources → https://linktr.ee/jinolee This is the open skill counterpart to Lesson 2’s anchor-to-anchor practice. Here, the focus shifts from clean mapping to creativity, phrasing, and musical connection — using the same anchors and the same motif, but letting them breathe. The backing track (C–F vamp → G–Am–F–G) gives you 3 minutes to explore how ideas move across the fretboard when you stop thinking mechanically and start thinking musically. 🎯 How to use the track: Minute 1 — Orientation Connect anchors slowly with alternate picking Feel the geography before adding expression Minute 2 — Motif in motion Play the SpongeBob motif (1–7–1–2–1) in one neighborhood Move it to another neighborhood Add expression: hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, bends, vibrato Minute 3 — Free for all Combine ideas from this lesson and the previous ones Let phrases flow naturally across anchors 🔑 Key ideas: Open skill = exploration, creativity, phrasing Same motif, different neighborhoods = different voices Anchors keep you grounded while you experiment 💡 Pro tips: Land with vibrato when you hit an anchor note — it will always sound resolved Try sliding or bending into the “2” of the motif, especially on the B string Think like a storyteller: same sentence (the motif), told differently depending on where you are on the neck 👉 There’s no “wrong” here — only discovery. #fretboardfluency
