R-Type Final - Stage 3.5 Forest Watchdog with the Legendary R9 - Bydo

This stage played in Score Attack on Bydo difficulty with the R9A2 Delta. My thoughts on the stage are below, if anyone is interested. I'd been thinking about this for a long time, playing each stage with the R9. In the past I'd gotten used to powerful ships like the Leo and Leo II. Not anymore. I played most of the stages on Bydo difficulty, and while some of them were quite rough, they were definitely manageable. Of note in stage 3.5 is that I am not using the Arrowhead, I'm using the Delta. Canon wise I believe this makes the most sense. This is the Bydo forest that is seen briefly in the R13's ending in R-Type Delta. What better ship and pilot to go looking for his lost comrade than the R9 Delta? My belief is that during R-Type Delta, whichever ship you choose is not alone. I've always believed that all three pilots were out together, lost in stage 5 together, and returned together in stage 6. In the RX's ending, it flies alongside the R9 to their command ship. The R9 and the RX in their respective endings are able to blast out of the Bydo dimension with the power of their wave cannon. The R13's wave cannon is too weak to blast a hole outside, and it is lost in its ending, trapped in the Bydo tree. This will not be a happy ending for either pilot, but at least the R13 can be given the peace of death. R-Type is a very dark series for reasons like this. *I love this ship, which is why it gets its own playlist.
