The Regional Field Epidemiology Training Program for Veterinarians (R-FETPV) plays a vital role in strengthening veterinary epidemiology capacity across the region by developing skilled field epidemiologists capable of responding to both emerging and endemic animal health threats. Key to the program's success is a core group of experienced mentors who guide trainees through field investigations, data analysis, and effective communication of findings. As the program expands, there is a growing need for qualified alumni to step into mentoring roles. To maintain high standards, these new mentors must be proficient in biostatistical methods—critical tools for sound epidemiological analysis and evidence-based decision-making. To address this need, R-FETPV is organizing a “Biostatistics and Key Epidemiological Concepts for New Mentors.” This workshop aims to refresh and deepen the biostatistical and epidemiological skills of alumni preparing to become mentors, equipping them to better support trainees in analyzing epidemiological data and producing high-quality outputs.
