Keeping up with the tradition of barely getting last years VCGP race vid posted before entering this year's race 😂 this is pretty much all of the first 1 1/2 laps. below is the race report I posted last year. I've ridden exactly twice since the 2022 race, but I'm entered for 2023... going to be REALLY slow this year, but can't wait to get out and get some seat time in!!!! The 2022 @virginiacitygrandprix was an ass kicking good time! Great having more friends up there this year! For only being my 2nd time actually riding in 14 months, and first time since ankle surgery, and having no front brake for almost 2 laps, I'm fine with 8th in 40+ Expert and 101 overall. The Ankle, braced up in my boot, held up pretty well. Was able to hit whoops and take hits better than the pre-surgery race in Oct. I'm just SUUUUUPER RUSTY. Lost my race pace reflexes, resulting in 3 pretty good crashes (on top of tangling up with downed riders in technical sections.) First crash, on the 1st lap, was all me, just got crossed up while hitting some off camber whoops and went down. After pitting to start lap 3 I felt great, but had my 2nd crash, on the gnarliest downhill, breaking my fender. I cut my fender bag off and gave it to course workers so it wouldn't be lost when the fender broke completely free. Got back to a good pace, until 1/3 of the way through the 4th lap... And then I CRASHED HARD going down #MotherfuckerMile (fire road covered in loose jagged rocks, where somone got taken out on a stretcher on 2nd lap). Front tire caught/rolled a rock and shot me off the trail, square into a pine tree. Got lucky and avoided any injury, but ripped my front brake line in half. #VCGP without a front brake is SKETCHY! Limped through the rest of the lap cautiously, figuring I'd only do 4 laps and call it a day. Spoke to a course worker before home check, who said my race was over (past 4hr mark). It wasn't. Had 41 seconds left, so it was take a DNF.... or do a 5th lap with no front brake. I wasn't taking a F-ing DNF. Did a slow 5th lap. Bulldoged the bike down the gnarliest hill, and used my left boot as a Flintstones brake on others. But didn't let #VCGP beat me 😁. #RidgeRunnersMC #RRMC #BrokenButNotBeaten #114T #D36 #VirginiaCity #VirginiaCityGrandPrix #Harescramble #GettingSeatTime @teamjorts @teamjorts @FlowVisionCompany #FlowVision #RhythemGoggles @IRCmoto #IRCmoto @MotulUSA #MotulNation @MojoMotosport @Nuetech.NitroMousse.Tubliss #NitroMousse @MikaMetals @bell_powersports @TwinAir @ODIgrips @MoTool @stokemoto @teamevs @santa_cruz_suspension
