Creed - Summer of '99 Tour - Front Row - Birmingham, Alabama - Oak Mountain Amphitheatre 08/14/2024 From the Front Row at this Sold Out show at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, (Birmingham), Alabama, Creed is playing at the top of their game. Everyone on stage is an original member and a somewhat humbled Scott Stapp sounds better than ever. I recorded the complete show in 4K, in it's entirety using my iPhone 14 Pro Max. YouTube automatically defaults to 720p so set your YouTube video quality to 4K! Setlist and time codes are listed below. At times Stapp’s vocals seem to get lost, almost where you can’t hear them during some songs as the music builds louder. I did the very best I could to enhance his sound but I shot the video with only my iPhone 14 Pro Max and it’s single microphone. In contrast with the audio mix of Three Doors Down earlier in the evening who had the vocals pushed forward, Creed has chosen to keep Stapp’s vocals as part of the music to reinforce that they are all part of the same band and no one stands above the others. Each of them sounds great alone, so making anyone stand out would be doing a disservice to the others who also deserve recognition. It becomes clear how Creed experienced such a meteoric rise to fame. These guys are damned good. “Bullets,” “Never Die” into “My Own Prison”, each song builds on the last and puts on display what the band is capable of. One fun moment comes when lead guitarist Mark Tremonti gives his stage played Paul Reed Smith guitar to the audience member who can scream the loudest. This gives everyone a chance to catch their breath before the biggest hits of “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher” close out the set. An encore of “One Last Breath” and “My Sacrifice” ends the show. On stage, as the other band members are tossing guitar picks and drum sticks, Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti each retrieve a handful of setlists, folded into paper airplanes and begin flying them into the crowd. I caught one that Scott threw at me and was surprised to see he had signed the back of it! If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up and SUBSCRIBE!
