In the Third Episode of our Journey, you'll be shown a View of a Network Setup (LAN) with AccessPoint, PC, Laptop, SmartPhone and Server, and also step-by-step process to create yours. Drag and Drop: AccessPoint, PC, Laptop and Smartphone Step 2: We set up the AccessPoint Device by: Click on device - Check the Physical Tab - Check the power status Step 2B: We Configure our Accesspoint Device Go to Config tab - Click on Port 1 - Edit SSID name to remember. Then under Authentication, Select “WPA2-PSK” - Edit the Passphrase/Secure password to remember - Close the tab. Note: SSID – Wifi-name. [Remember its values] SSID stands for Service Set Identifier. It is simply the publicly broadcast name of a wireless network—what you see in the list when you look for Wi-Fi networks on your phone or laptop (e.g., Home_WiFi , Office_AP , or in Packet Tracer, default ). The SSID acts like a label for the specific network signal the Access Point is putting out. Step 3: Configure PC Go to Physical tab - Click the physical hardware button to turn OFF PC - Scroll down to see exactly the same image on PC-port at the button right-corner - By Dragging, Remove default image/module from hardware and add to “MODULES” list - Then Drag “WPM300N” from list to the hardware slot to install/insert. Now, turn ON PC. Step 3b: Click on PC - Desktop - Set IP Address: 192.168.1.1 Step 3c: Click on PC - Config - Set the Initial “AccessPoint” values in the fields. Set SSID - Click WPA2-PSK - Set Values. [Ensure port is ON] Step 3d: [*Skipped] Now, to test connection to Accesspoint, Click Desktop - PC Wireless - Enter SSID and Passkey/Password. Then click connect. Wait for “Success message.” Step 4: Go to Physical tab - Click the physical hardware button to turn OFF Laptop - Scroll down to see exactly the same image on Laptop-port at the button right-corner - By Dragging, Remove default image/module from hardware and add to “MODULES” list - Then Drag “WPC300N” from list to the hardware slot to install/insert. Now, turn ON Laptop. Step 4b: Click on Laptop - Desktop - Set IP Address: 192.168.1.2 (Ensure IP Range: 192.168.x.x with the PC) Step 4c: Click on laptop - Config - Set the Initial “AccessPoint” values in the fields. Set SSID - Click WPA2-PSK - Set Values. [Ensure port is ON] Step 4d: [*Skipped] Now, to test connection to Accesspoint, Click Desktop - PC Wireless - Enter SSID and Passkey/Password. Then click connect. Wait for “Success message.” Step 5: Click on Smartphone - Desktop - Set Ip Address: 192.168.1.3 5b: Click on Config tab - Set the Initial “AccessPoint” values in the fields. Set SSID - Click WPA2-PSK - Set Values. [Ensure port is ON] Step 6: Now, check to confirm connectivity by “Radio signals” transfer. Step 7: PING and Test Connectivity using Simple PDU.
