Hey there everybody! Today marks our third survival science video! So far, we've learned how to make a solar still and use a transpiration bag to collect water. Now, we're going to learn how to filter water we find in the wild. Sometimes we may come across water in a lake, river, or pond. But what if that water is dirty? What if it has things in it that could hurt us? This is where having a good water filter can come in handy. So today, we are going to learn how to make our own water filter! You'll need the following items to make your water filter: -Plastic bottle or comparable food-safe container -Another container for clean water -Clean cotton or cheese cloth -Coffee filter or porous cloth -Charcoal -Sand (fine and coarse) -Gravel or pebbles You can substitute any of these items out for similar items (medical gauze instead of cotton balls, grass and sand for cotton). Or, try and make your own water filter using the same principles as I show you here. Safety tip...if you filter any water from unknown rivers, lakes, or ponds, please do not drink the water. The filter does a great job filtering out minerals, sediment, and the like, but bacteria and other pathogens could be still in the water. So, gather your materials and let's make a water filter! -Mr. C –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Track: Panama — Scandinavianz [Audio Library Release] Music provided by Audio Library Plus Watch: • Panama — Scandinavianz | Free Background M...
