GE Washing Machine Lid Lock Disable / Bypass by Modifying the Striker! NOTE! I got an email from someone that had no success with the second method of elevation the latch striker; the striker still had to be removed and turned around. So maybe there is an issue with this circuitry is some machines???? Obviously operating the washing machine with the the lid open can be VERY hazardous so don't stick your hand(s) in there when the machine is operating at all ! You will notice I added a second part of the video. The latch was not passing through the striker tab so the machine got confused occasionally and I had to flip the striker tab around to get it to work again. I slightly elevated the striker above the beveled opening in the top with the two sticks in the video (you can devise your own way of doing this) so now the latch thingy now passes through the striker opening which it was not doing before I guess. The part is WH01X31219 LID LOCK STRIKER and it was about 10-13 dollars shipped. I do recommend using two piece of blue tape for added stability/security so the striker does not move and hopefully keeping the opening watertight
