EvoFunPath Seminar: Dr. Maureen Donlin

Dr. Donlin is a self-taught bioinformaticist who contributed to the analysis of a variety of projects in virology, immunology, and cancer. Her own research program is primarily in the study of Cryptococcus neoformans. One arm of her research, in collaboration with Dr. Jennifer Lodge, is to understand how C. neoformans regulates and remodels its cell wall in response to stress and treatment with antifungals. A second arm is to identify novel small molecules that can inhibit growth of the fungus and potentially be developed into new anti-fungal therapies. More recently Dr. Donlin has transitioned to a more administrative role as director the master’s program in Bioinformatics and Computational biology and, since 2020, as the director of research computing for the entire university.
