Memory today consists of two giants: DRAM and NAND flash, and a broad range of lesser alternatives all vying for the designer’s attention, including established technologies like SRAM, NOR flash, and EEPROM as well as emerging technologies like MRAM, ReRAM, PCM, and FRAM. The newer technologies are all hoping that their superior performance and scalability will allow them to steal market share from the leading technologies.
