Dry Methi Moong Dal Recipe | Healthy Fenugreek Moong Dal Sabzi | Easy Home Style | Our Daily Bread | Dry Methi Moong Dal is a healthy and tasty Indian sabzi made with soaked yellow moong dal and fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves. This easy home-style recipe is lightly spiced with garlic, ginger, and Kashmiri chilli for a perfect balance of flavour and nutrition. This dish pairs beautifully with chapati, jowar roti, or plain rice and is ideal for a light lunch or dinner. Try this simple and wholesome recipe at home and enjoy a comforting, nutritious meal. 📝 Ingredients • 2 tbsp oil • 1 tsp cumin seeds • A pinch of asafoetida (hing) • 2 dried Kashmiri red chillies • 3–4 garlic cloves, finely chopped • Small piece of ginger, finely chopped • 1 medium onion, finely chopped • 2 green chillies, finely chopped • ½ cup yellow moong dal (washed & soaked for 1–2 hours) • ¼ tsp turmeric powder • 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder • 2 tsp coriander powder • 1 cup hot water • 2 bunches fresh methi leaves, cleaned & chopped • Salt to taste 👩🍳 Method 1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. 2. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle. 3. Add a pinch of asafoetida and dried Kashmiri red chillies. 4. Add chopped garlic and ginger; sauté for 1–2 minutes until aromatic. 5. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft. 6. Add green chillies and sauté for a few seconds. 7. Add the soaked moong dal and mix well. 8. Add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, and coriander powder; mix well. 9. Pour in 1 cup hot water, mix, cover, and cook on medium to low heat for 3–4 minutes. 10. Once the dal is almost cooked, add the chopped methi leaves. 11. Cover and cook for 2–3 minutes. 12. Uncover and mix well. If water remains, cook on high flame until it evaporates. 13.
