At TEDxGIM 2026, Dr Himani Kashyap brings forth a fascinating scientific perspective to the stage by exploring the brain’s extraordinary ability to change and adapt. She explained that every time we approach a task differently, make a new choice, or break a habit even in the smallest way, we give our brain the opportunity to rewire itself. Through relatable examples and clear insights, She illustrated that growth is rarely sudden or dramatic, instead, it is a quiet, cumulative process shaped by repeated actions and mindful decisions. Her talk emphasized that personal evolution is built step by step, choice by choice and that each small shift contributes to lasting transformation. She left the audience with a sense of empowerment and an understanding that tiny, intentional changes in daily life can spark meaningful, long-term growth, making the process of change accessible, practical, and deeply inspiring. An Additional Professor of Clinical Psychology at NIMHANS, Dr. Kashyap brings over two decades of experience across clinical and research settings in India and Australia. Her work focuses on understanding how cognitive control shapes emotions, behaviour, and therapeutic change, while exploring how technology can be harnessed to make mental health interventions more impactful. She coordinates Cognite, a community cognition clinic at the NIMHANS Centre for Well-Being, and is a certified supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia, and trains postgraduates and doctoral students in Clinical Psychology. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
