To get to Lake Atitlán by public bus from Guatemala City, take a bus to Los Encuentros (route to Xela) and from there another connection to Panajachel Did you know that even if you want to go to Semuc Champey you don't need to go back to Antigua or Ciudad, you can leave by public bus from San Pedro (they leave every day) or by tourist shuttle.
