In recent research, more than 15,500 DINOSAUR footprints have been found in the surroundings of Carreras Pampa, in the Toro Toro National Park, Bolivia. Toro Toro is the place with the most Dinosaur footprints in the World, surpassing Cal Orcko in Sucre, also in Bolivia with 12,000 footprints. More than 60 million years ago, when much of Bolivia was under the sea, a large number of dinosaur species crossed from Cochabamba to Tarijá, making the longest journey documented by footprints around the world. These traces were mostly captured on the bottoms of lakes and sea shores. It is thanks to that type of soil and the ashes from continuous volcanic eruptions for millions of years that managed to make the Nazca tectonic plate rise, creating the current Andes, as well as covering the traces of erosion and malformations. And in this video we will go to Toro Toro, visiting its caverns, rock formations, we will find many footprints and even fossils from more than 50 million years ago and all this in the largest open-air museum in the world, there is no other place in the world with these characteristics.
