Housing is not just a market issue, it is the foundation for dignity, stability, and hope. Josh Shaw's talk reframes the housing crisis through the lived reality of young Australians and argues that durable solutions require bringing ‘ordinary’ youth voices from the margins to the centre of policy and public debate. Josh Shaw is a 19-year-old student at the Australian National University, studying PPE and Psychology, and originally from Wagga Wagga. He is currently the Youth Governor in the Y NSW Youth Parliament, volunteers with mental health not-for-profit UrVoice Australia, and was previously College Captain at Mater Dei Catholic College. Driven by empathy and a belief that everyone deserves a voice, Josh advocates for young people and will speak about the urgency of youth and experts working together to address Australia’s housing crisis, where too many young people are being denied their fundamental right to shelter. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
