HOTEL REVIEW: Quality Suites in Jeffersonville, Indiana (Retro dated to 12/25/2025)

Alrighty! Time to get uncomfortable again! It's time for my about once a year addition to the hotel review playlist and oh boy we got ourselves a doozy! For reference, this was the night of Christmas, the audio was muted because my little sibling couldn't quit yapping (yes I spelled Sibling wrong in the video, get over it.) And I after asking for permission, my family members in the room didn't want to be seen so fair play. So here's this jigsaw puzzle of a video portion of a hotel review. The Hotel in question: Quality Suites Jeffersonville, IN Price: $63 per night. Can't complain about that price for the average Quality hotel. These can easily run $80 if not even more on a major holiday. Then you realize this isn't your average Quality Suites. It's below average. Breakfast was well, minimal either coffee or milk as your drinking options, no juice! Yikes, if this hotel is indeed rationing breakfast items to cut costs, then you get what you paid for. They better not being doing this on more busier days; i.e. when 'Louder Than Life' is going on across The River in Louisville. The whole staff in total was no less than 2 and no greater than 5. This might explain why this hotel is rundown, tired, and bare bones. They must have taken inspiration from the Department of Government Efficiency's book to maximize profit. But I digress, this hotel didn't break the bank so I'll give it a favorable score. 7.0/10 Location: Welp, on one hand, it's right off Interstate 65 in a major city. On the other hand, there's nothing really there other than some mixed residential areas and some urban blight. There's a U-Haul dealership, a Motel 6, a Days Inn & Suites, and a Waffle House on the same exit the hotel is on. Those are the only businesses in the entire immediate area. Just down the access road is an old abandoned hotel which might be a red flag as it's likely squatter's paradise there. It looks like that it might be in the process of getting demolished so that problem maybe gone (if there is one) in the future. It's a very car dependent hotel, right next to the Interstate with nothing on the exit, so you have to drive past it to get to some place better. (Huh, sounds like Indiana in a nutshell...) I'm no expert to the Jeffersonville area, it's probably the only area of the 812 I'm not an expert in, the Hotel seemed to be in a rough neighborhood. Once again, just the eyeball test I have no knowledge of the immediate area besides what Google Maps shows. Probably the worst location I've stayed at in terms of amenities. 2.5/10 Rooms: Where to begin? So the first warning sign should have been at Check-In. The receptionist was M.I.A. for at least 20 minutes before we could actually get our room key and check in. It was about 5:30 PM near Primetime check-in time! The hallway to our room was dark with several burnt out light bulbs with some room doors having massive dents in the exterior door. On the inside of our room oh boy...it was like stepping back to 2007. The wallpaper was peeling off of the walls in several places, scuff marks and minor damages to the wall was found everywhere. The room wasn't dusted, light fixtures and desks had a dusting of dust. I didn't bother to even consider walking barefoot on the carpet as it had many mysterious black stains dotted everywhere. Carpet hasn't been cleaned other than some surface vacuuming in it's existence. The shower was almost unusable, in fact, my Dad broke off the shower handle by simply turning it. Only to find out that there was not one screw holding it together. You could rig it up to get it to run water but it was only near full blast scalding hot water. We notified the front desk, they didn't seem to care. The bedspread had more mysterious black stains on it. (to be fair, most cleaning crews don't give a darn about that top spread.) Underneath the fitted sheet had some suspected dried blood on it, which put me on edge for possible bedbugs or fleas. Thankfully, after one night, no such evidence. The bed itself was actually quite nice to sleep on if you ignore the tiny stains. It was a nice soft pillow top bed with a poor selection of lumpy pillows. But dare I say, it was one of the nicer hotel beds I've ever slept on. That and the name brand Dove Shampoo was the only nice things about the room. It probably hasn't seen a renovation in 19 years, and it desperately needs one. Not recommended for the clean freaks out there. The nice sleeping bed made it not get a zero. 2.5/10 Genshin Impact Wi-Fi "Stress Test" Test: N/A The Genshin Impact Wi-Fi Stress Test test was not tested, nor did I want to we avoided this room as much as possible. We mostly loitered at our family member's place on Christmas day for dinner and activities. Genshin Dailies were done there.
