When first starting out on your muscle building journey, one of the confusing things is "What exercises do I perform when I'm at the gym?" Personally for me, I perform the Push, Pull, Legs Routines also known as PPL. I used to do an Upper/Lower Body Split, however, I felt like PPL was more comprehensive and cover all the essentially muscle group with enough attention and stimulus. When choosing the proper workout routine, it's best to try both (1) PPL or (2) Upper/Lower to see which best suits you. Depending on your tolerance to exercise and your recovery ability, you'll see how your body responds. Some do better with Upper/Lower while other feel like Push/Pull/Legs is better. Listen to your body and see how much time you have in your weekly schedule to determine which works best for you.
