Jormungandr is a Zamperla Powered Coaster that opened on the 28th of May 2022 in the brand new Vikings area at Drayton Manor. Jormungandr was a rethemed version of what was originally known as the Buffalo Coaster which opened in 1987 in an area of the park known as Aerial Park. In Norse mythology, Jörmungandr is an unfathomably large sea serpent or worm who dwells in the world sea, encircling the Earth (Midgard) and biting his own tail. Jörmungandr is said to be the middle child of the trickster god Loki and the giantess Angrboða. NOTE: Filming is only allowed at Drayton Manor with permission from the park and all equipment must be checked by the rides management team. Jormungandr Jormungandr is the rethemed family-favourite Buffalo Coaster which is reimagined and renamed as Jormungandr. Jormungandr is a sea serpent and the middle child of Loki and the giantess Angrboðat. Jormungandr is aimed at younger thrill seekers and takes guests onboard a voyage through the Vikings area with great views of the theme park and the nearby Drayton Manor Lake. Thor Thor is a brand new family thrill ride named after the infamous god of thunder. It will send those brave enough to ride spinning in a giant wheel back and forth across a track. Thor is the UK’s third Zamperla Disk'O Coaster, the others being Edge at Paultons Park and Kobra at Chessington World of Adventures Loki Loki is a family thrill ride with eight gondolas and four arms rotating in a fast-intermeshing orbit. Inspired by the god of mischief, Loki is a Zamperla Nebulaz, the first Zamperla Nebulaz in the UK. Sleipnir Sleipnir is a new attraction that will take explorers on a journey through a training school, where the legend of the ancient Viking mythical horse will teach them how to become a powerful god. This is a Metallbau Emmeln Pony Trak ride similar to George’s Dinosaur ride found in Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park. The Drayton Manor Hotel also contains 10 Viking-themed rooms with Nordic-themed decor, Viking shields and mythical surroundings. There is also a restaurant named Walhalla, inspired by the historic heaven that warriors were said to visit after battle, Walhalla features traditional wooden benches surrounding a sizzling BBQ pit. Drayton Manor Resort is a family theme park, zoo, and accommodation in the grounds of the former Drayton Manor in Staffordshire, England. Drayton Manor Resort is the fourth-largest amusement park in the UK by land area. Drayton Manor is home to Thomas Land, Adventure Cove, Vikings, and Drayton Manor Zoo which has over 500 animals, including Red pandas, Eurasian lynx, Sumatran tigers, and a variety of monkeys and gibbons.
