How Much Do You Love God

The message today is from the book of Romans, written by the Apostle Paul. In the verses today Paul asserts the immeasurable love God has for us. This is to be a great encouragement for all of our life; to know that the King of the Universe loves us unconditionally can encourage us through the dark times in our lives. Now while the verses speak on this invincible love, able to stand against any and all elements of time and destruction, the question posed to us in the message is do we love God the same way? Do we love him unconditionally, during good times and bad times, when we experience great blessings and when we are in the valley of want? God's everlasting love needs no work on His part; He is all in all and complete, so his love is complete. However, we, as fallen creatures, must work on developing this same kind of love. This is a lifetime effort for us, and is a worthy task to put our all into. One of the Devil's strongest accusation against us is that we only "love" God for what we get from Him; we don't love Him fully and unconditionally as He does with us. But by developing our love of God through a relationship with Him, we can love Him as He is, just as He loves us as we are -- unconditionally and always.
