I am Der Geher and for a change in Düsseldorf. From Burgplatz the path leads past the city hall through Bolkerstraße. A short look at the Wilhelm Marx House and to Corneliusplatz at the north end of Königsallee. Via Schadowplatz, the path now leads along Königsallee to Benrather Straße. After the church St. Maximilian and the city museum the Rhine is reached again. Passing the state parliament, the Rhine Tower and the Gehry buildings form the end of the path. Düsseldorf was not founded until the 12th century, but was already named a city in 1288 by Adolf V of Berg. In the 14th century Düsseldorf became the residence and later the capital of the Counts of Berg. In 1815 Düsseldorf became the property of the Prussian King Frederick William III and in 1823 it became the seat of the Provincial Assembly. Today Düsseldorf is the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia and is the second largest city in the state with about 620,000 inhabitants.
