Private International Law - Part II

Part II of this video lecture series shows how Private International Law rules are applied in practice, using the example of a typical case. The explanation in the video is somewhat simplified. For the question of the applicable law, it is shown how the rules stated in Article 117 of the Swiss Code of Private International Law work. To be precise, in the case of a sale of movable property, the rules of Article 117 are replaced by those of the Hague Convention of 15 June 1955 on the Law Applicable to the International Sale of Goods (cf. Articles 1(2) and 118(1) of the Swiss Code of Private International Law). However, these rules are similar and, as far as the case example is concerned, lead to the same result for the same reasons.
