Four young ponies were rescued after being abandoned in shocking, life-threatening condition. One of them — Tinker Bell — weighs just 57kg. Beneath her thick, matted coat she is a skeleton. Our veterinarians describe this as profound malnutrition. Blood tests revealed dangerously low red blood cells and protein levels, caused by starvation, heavy parasite burdens and long-term neglect. Quite simply, it is a miracle they survived long enough to reach us. Two of the ponies have already required plasma transfusions just to stabilise them.
