Solo Across the Country | Landing at Harry Reid International (KLAS) with a 30kt Gusting Crosswind

(Filmed 10/14/2025) I. FREAKING. MADE IT!!!! Sorry, spoiler alert. I was nervous about landing at Harry Reid International (KLAS) since it's a busy bravo airspace (I even went out beforehand to practice some holds just in case lmao), but it was super chill. It was gusting 30 knots 40-50 degrees off of the runway heading, so it was nothing to sneeze at. Most GA people were probably avoiding it, so it was just me and airliners. Thankful for all of my experience landing in these kinds of winds frequently, due to the fact that my home airport in Florida is on the beach! It was still really intense and I had to have my game face on. I was prepared to scrub it and figure something else out, I had full tanks and plenty of gusto left, but I held that crab and kicked the rudder at the last second. Not a beautiful landing, but a safe one. We'll take it! THEN I got to enjoy myself at NBAA! Met ‪@Kinsey22‬ and we had a blast hanging out and getting to know each other all day. If you don't already follow her, get to it. She is insanely smart and driven, and I learned a ton from her.
