Today we rode the Historic Railroad Trail at Lake Mead National Recreation Area—an unforgettable bike ride filled with desert scenery, rich history, and incredible views. This trail follows the original railroad grade built in the early 1930s to help construct Hoover Dam. Along the way, we rode through hand-carved tunnels, looked out over Lake Mead, and reflected on the workers who helped shape the American Southwest during the Great Depression. The ride is about 3.7 miles one way, taking us from the trailhead all the way to Hoover Dam. After our ride, we walked across the dam itself—one of the most iconic landmarks in the country—and crossed from Nevada into Arizona, literally stepping across two time zones. This day wasn’t about speed or distance. It was about slowing down, soaking in the history, and enjoying the journey together. Thanks for coming along with us.
