Winter has fully settled in on the homestead, and with deep snow and bitter cold, our greenhouse build has to pause for now. So instead of building, today we’re welcoming the slower side of the season with old fashioned bomemade christmas decor and winter sowing lisianthus seeds out in the snow. There’s something so comforting about creating with your hands during the darkest days of the year — drying oranges, tying greenery, making simple vintage-style Christmas decorations that feel warm and timeless. While indoors stays cozy, the garden still calls, even under a blanket of snow. Today I’m also planting Lisianthus seeds using the winter sowing method, tucking them safely outside so they can experience the natural freeze-thaw cycles before spring arrives. It always feels a little magical to plant flowers when everything looks so frozen and quiet. Even though the greenhouse progress is temporarily on hold, the dreaming, planning, and growing never really stop. Thank you for being here and sharing in these quiet winter moments with us. ✨ If you’re new here, welcome! We share gardening, cut flowers, DIY’s, homesteading, we’re currently building a greenhouse from scratch and slow seasonal living.
