Just to clarify about the elements she’s listing off. Those are certainly not all found in pink salt. That list is from a spectral analysis of Himalayan pink salt mentioned in a Science Based Medicine article. They referenced it to point out the irony of how this salt is advertised to contain “84 trace minerals valuable to the body,” but the spectral analysis showing these advertised “trace minerals” include contaminants and radioactive elements, many of which are reported in the analysis at less than 1 ppm to less than 0.001 ppm, which likely means those are the limits of detection and none was actually detected. https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/pink... In the 2020 pink salt study I mentioned, only one sample exceeded the national maximum contaminant level set by Food Standards Australia New Zealand. That sample was a Peruvian pink salt. The others were less than 0.14 mg/kg of lead. (PMID: 33086585) Buy what you prefer and what you have access to. Lower cost refined salt can work great for cooking and baking applications. More expensive, less refined pink salt, for example, can work great for an application where the visual appeal is more important, like topping a chocolate confection.
