The Jaguar E-Type project officially begins. In this first episode, we start the metal finishing process using traditional lead wiping techniques on the rear seams and body joints — the way these cars were originally finished from factory. This isn’t filler-heavy restoration work. This is proper metal craftsmanship. You’ll see the full process including: • Surface preparation and tinning • Heating and applying body solder (lead) • Paddle shaping and metal finishing • Filing and refining the contours • Neutralising acids and protecting the metal • Practical tips learned from experience We also run through tool setup, torch control, and why temperature management is critical when working with lead on classic panels. The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most iconic sports cars ever built, and this project will be restored with the same philosophy we use across all Royalz Restorationz builds: Minimal filler.
