This is Windows 7 Build 7000 in VMware Workstation. This is the official beta which was compiled on 2008-12-12 and "expires" on 2009-07-01. This build has an expiration date, but it doesn't actually stop you from using the OS after that date so you don't need to set a BIOS date. How I got this to run. Set backwards compatibility with VMware Workstation version 10 and use all of the default settings. To get Aero to work, use the VMware Workstation 11 WDDM driver.
