Types of Speech Styles 1) FROZEN - the speech is fixed. It is considered as the highest form of communicative speech used in formal ceremonies and events. Examples: Pledge of Allegiance, Literary Pieces 2) FORMAL - it uses formal words and expressions. In writing, it avoids contractions, omission devices (ellipsis), qualifying adverbs, slangs and colloquial terms and other grammatical and linguistic restrictions. Examples: Job Interviews, Academic Papers and Forums 3) CONSULTATIVE - it is the third level of communicative speech. The speaker uses the listener's feeback and active participation while providing his or her background knowledge. Examples: Teacher to student, Doctor to patient 4) CASUAL - it is providing easy communication between friends and insiders sharing same things without any grammatical or language limitations. Examples: Daily conversations, Friends talk 5) INTIMATE - it considers the level of intimacy of the persons involved while talking privately or things not meant to be disclosed in public.
