We continue our series on the Book of Romans called “Romans: The Gospel of God’s Grace”, with Pastor Jeff Marquez’s message from Romans 11: 1-24. This week, we look into the sovereignty of God, our responsibility to follow Him and how God’s grace brings God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility together. God has not given up on His people and He preserves a remnant. God is faithful and has shown His faithfulness time and time again. If God has preserved a remnant by grace, the reason that we are still here, believing and putting our hope in God is because God is holding on to us and continuously working in our lives. Rejection is not the end and grace redeems human failure. Human disobedience and failure will never defeat or thwart God’s purpose, as God’s plan will still prevail. God’s plan will never fail and He even weaves human rebellion and disobedience into redemption. All of us must stand by faith and not by privilege. God’s grace removes all boasting. We must not consider ourselves to be superior to others, as we are all on equal footing. When we stand with God, we stand shoulder to shoulder with each other. We must continue in God’s kindness, as God’s grace calls for humble perseverance. God grace is not an excuse for us to drift and wander aimlessly, but it is an invitation to abide. Everyone is graftable, as grace always leaves room for restoration. Our confidence is not that people will finally get things right, but that God is able. God is able to save, restore, keep His promises and finish what He started.
