When I first shared Eucalyptus Noise with you guys two years ago ( • Eucalyptus Noise for Healing | 12 Hours | ... ), it came from a personal place (as someone who struggled with asthma as a kid). I’ve always turned to eucalyptus when my breathing feels tight. There’s something about the cool, clean scent, especially with a bit of menthol, that helps me feel more at ease. That original soundscape used real eucalyptus leaves and stems, layered with a soft breeze, to create something open, light, and calming. Well, now I’ve taken that idea in a familiar direction with Dark Eucalyptus Noise. This version still uses the same raw elements (eucalyptus stems and leaves, eucalyptus oil vapor, and field recordings of wind) but shapes them into something deeper and more grounding. It’s meant for those times when you’re not just looking to breathe easier, but also to slow down and fully let go. I took the original sounds and stretched them out, softening the textures and giving them more space. The rustle of leaves was filtered to keep the high-end detail gentle and smooth, while lower tones and ambient layers were added underneath using some elongated drones, tones and rumbles from the MIDI keyboard (also some came from processed rice shaking, to resemble something that feels like movement through dense, quiet trees). I also worked on the panning to give a sense of slow motion around you, almost like being surrounded by night air in a eucalyptus grove. Anyway, I hope it's a winner for some of you! I certainly slept well to it last night - and definitely felt my breathing go a bit easier. Sleep long and sleep well my good friends! MADE USING: Eucalyptus stems and leaves, MIDI keyboard, eucalyptus oil, wind blowing recordings and rice shaking
