Wegmans' plastic machines were down due to compactor issues, so I had to bring all of my bottles elsewhere. The result is an afternoon of various RVMs at various locations. I was able to do $15 of plastic in the plastic-only machine as well as my glass at Wegmans, but the rest had to go elsewhere. Obviously, I did not film everything. Unless I have someone film for me, I will not film entire loads of returns, at least when they're over $20. Video #1: Envipco CF-1500 RVMs @ Price Rite Price Rite is the new Kmart - No one was around to empty the combi so I couldn’t use it unfortunately. Upon asking if someone could empty it, they said that Envipco would take care of it for them. During a previous visit, someone did come out to empty it, but in a less than ideal manner. There are no bags in the bins, and they were just emptied into a shopping cart which is unsanitary and messy. Most of the staff don’t know how to service the machines either; I’ve reached out to Wakefern about this and did not ever receive a response, so take of that what you will. For shame, Price Rite. These machines were manufactured in 2003 and are the only Envipcos with old white/orange covers that I've seen in person and used. They're in pretty poor condition, though the combi is almost always full so it's not very relevant. This was actually an off-peak visit, as I remember the machines used old Envipco paper and I wanted to get a receipt as a keepsake. It is nigh on impossible to use these machines, so this is the only footage I am able to get of them. Video #2: Tomra T-53 RVMs @ Target Go figure, as soon as I started filming the machine I was using went full. Most of my plastic and cans was done here. These machines seem to be fairly new, or at least very gently used, as they are nearly pristine. Contrary to the norm, the plastic machines actually flatten rather than shred. The compactor sounds similar to that of the can machines. This is one of the better places to return bottles, as they are relatively quick with updates and accept most of what they're supposed to (except for certain alcohols and spiked seltzers, which proves to be annoying). However, the glass machine has been out of service for a long time. While the plastic machines here are notorious for going full every time I used them, I was able to do $26 total before every machine went full. Not wanting to wait around for them to be emptied, I moved on to the next location. Video #3: Envipco Ultra48 RVMs @ Walmart I decided to switch things up a bit and go to Walmart. I was going there anyways, so I figured eh why not. This Walmart actually cares about maintaining their machines, so they actually work reasonably well (most of the time, anyways. They have periods of breaking down which makes them pretty unpleasant to use). These are also rear-unloading models. I was able to do the rest of my plastic just fine (with the exception of the two bottles it didn't take) but the cans machine was out of service. Video #4: Tomra T-70 RVMs @ Wegmans Going full circle, I returned to Wegmans to finish up my cans. The combi machines were back in service and seemed to be working, which made me wonder if the compactor issue was a fluke. Regardless, the machines are back in service and working great now. I just realized these videos were filmed in 30fps, I've now corrected this and hopefully future videos will finally turn out well with no overbright or choppy nonsense.
