There are different drills and progressions included so players of different levels can choose and also have the progressions as they improve. The one tap drill can be done in the beginning with someone(Friend or a coach) feeding you the ball and you tapping and hitting the volley. once you're comfortable with that you can move onto doing the same drill hitting back and forth with your partner. Remember to keep the intensity high with executing good footwork and proper form so you're able to get into good positions to hit a lot of volleys. The next progression with two taps is more of a advanced version so once you are able to hit back and forth with one tap consistently then you can move on to this drill. And finally you can practice the volleys in a feeding drill with setting up targets for both deep and short volleys. There are different ways to set up the drill- You can start by just practicing deep volleys and then just short volleys. Develop a good feel for it and then what we wanna do is hit deep volleys and mix in short volleys to mimic more of a match play situation. You will be able to feel the difference from before and now when you try to dampen the impact you're able to do it more successfully. keep the intensity high and effort level up and get as many quality repetitions as possible.
