I literally received this thing yesterday, without instructions so what you see is from about an hour of fiddling to get the functionality seen here working. I have always wanted a tape punch/read machine like terminals for mainframes used to have in the 70s and beyond. This machine functions as a typewriter, teleprinter, teletype, tape puncher, tape reader. It runs on 24VDC, prints with a dot-matrix printer and has dual-coloured ribbon (which I haven't figured out how to switch to black yet) Lower-case letters are unknown so far It also has a series of daughter cards akin to a backplane computer. Serial plate says 1987, it came with an asset/decommission tag dated 1997. I would assume it was a bridge machine before (inter)networking was common PoI: 00:00 Making a strip of paper tape 00:30 Loading paper tape for punching 00:37 Punching out a message 01:37 Loading paper sheet for printing 02:00 Fumble-loading paper tape for reading 02:31 Verifying hole reader 02:56 Printing the message from tape 03:15 Printout with tape 03:27 Typewriter mode 05:24 Peek at internals
