🚨 Freedom Watch Debate at London College Erupts Into Violence, Assaults & Arrests 🚨 A public debate hosted by Freedom Watch GB at the London College of Communication took a chaotic turn when supporters of the group — including founder Montgomery Toms and journalist Will Coleshill — were assaulted and subsequently arrested during a campus event. The debate, meant to discuss immigration and related policies under the banner “Britain Needs Mass Deportations — Prove Me Wrong,” quickly escalated into physical confrontation with students and bystanders. According to video footage and eyewitness accounts online, a student flipped the table at the Freedom Watch stand, damaging equipment and provoking a scuffle. Coleshill attempted a citizen’s arrest of the assailant, but was soon attacked by others nearby, reportedly having his arm bitten and being struck by thrown objects as staff and students intervened. Police were called to the scene, and instead of arresting the individual who first attacked the activists, officers detained Coleshill — reportedly for public order offences — while the original assailant was not taken into custody. Critics of the response argue the police acted on the basis of what was on display at the event rather than the violence that unfolded. In this video we break down: • What Freedom Watch GB was trying to debate at the university • How and why a peaceful Q&A turned into a violent confrontation • What happened when a citizen’s arrest was attempted • Who was arrested and why police action has been criticised • The wider debate over free speech, campus politics, and protest rights in UK universities 👇 What do you think — was this a failure of free speech on campus, or did the situation escalate because of provocation? 🔔 Subscribe for more coverage of controversial debates, university free speech clashes, and political controversy. #FreedomWatchGB #FreeSpeech #UniversityDebate #CampusClash #LondonCollegeOfCommunication #Protest #Arrest #Assault #UKPolitics
