Sermon On “Your Growth On/Within This New Year” By Sister Anne On 13th January, 2026 (Part 3)

CONTINUATION:Tools or spiritual disciplines we need to measure our Christian growth: 4 SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES TO PROGRESS: 1. ABIDING IN THE WORD. John 15:7 “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.2 JESUS SAYS, IF WE WANT TO BE A GROWING BELIEVER, A DISCIPLE, WE MUST ABIDE IN HIS WORD. John 8:31-32 “31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” THE WAY TO HAVE CHRIST LIVING IN US IS TO HAVE HIS WORD IN US. The word is food to us. Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” 1 Peter 2:2 “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation” We receive the word in many ways: Listening To The Word Of God Taught Or Preached Reading The Word Of God Studying The Word Of God Memorizing The Word Of God Meditating On The Word Of God Applying The Word Of God To Our Lives. Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” What happens when you apply God’s word in your life? You are mature, rooted in Christ. Do you love God’s word? Do you read it or study it? Memorize it? Do you live it? Do you obey God’s word? ABIDING IN THE WORD OF GOD MEANS WE LIVE THE WORD AS MUCH AS WE READ THE WORD. GOD’S WORD HAS THE POWER TO TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE! ITS TEACHINGS WILL RADICALLY CHANGE YOUR THINKING, AND THUS YOUR LIFESTYLE. The word of God enables us to Progress in our Spiritual life. Make a plan to read and study God’s word systematically in 2026. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been . . . You have a place in God’s forever family. The invitation is wide open. Just believe and receive. How do you get there? TRUST IN GOD’S CHARACTER AND THE GRACE HE EXTENDS. God proved his goodness through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says; “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 CSB). Will you follow Jesus today? CONFESS YOUR SINS AND ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU. Claim the promise of Jesus, that salvation is free and open to anyone who turns from their sins and agrees to follow him as their Lord and Savior. Humbly ask God to accept you into His forever family. Are you ready? Then start your journey by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I know when I die, I’m going to give an account of my life to you. I know I have sinned against you, and I have lived by my plan, not yours. I want to turn away from my sins and toward you. “Thank you for sending Jesus to die for all that I’ve done wrong so that I don’t have to pay the penalty. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know only your grace can save me, Lord. I could never be good enough to get into a perfect place. “Jesus, thank you for loving me so much that you took all my guilt on yourself. You made me acceptable for heaven, and I humbly ask you to save me. I believe in you, Jesus. And I believe you will keep your promise to save me instantly, certainly, completely, and eternally. Now everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced with the message about righteousness, because he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature—for those whose senses have been trained to distinguish between good and evil.” 4. 2 Peter 3:18 (NIV) “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” 5. James 1:2-4 (ESV) “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”......
