Minnesota Iron Range Rail Action | Missabe and BNSF EMD Locomotives On this trip to the Minnesota Iron Range on June 7th of 2008, we start out with the Keenan Switch departing the Keenan yard with DMIR 213 (EMD SD38-2) and DMIR 316 (SD-M) then follow it north onto the Mintac sub. We then head south to Kelsey where we see the BLE 909 followed by the IC 6257 with a tac train from United Taconite heading to Proctor, MN. We follow this train and shoot it two more times at Bear trap curve in Grand Lake, MN then one more time as it goes under the former Duluth, Winnipeg and Pacific (CN) line in Munger. We also get a quick peak at a couple of pushers on the old DWP bridge that are headed back to the Canadian National Pokegama Yard. Then on the next day of this trip head to Alborn, MN for two BNSF Taconite trains, the first with BNSF 8844 (SD70MAC) and BNSF 4632, and the second with BNSF 8940 (SD70MAC), BNSF 644 (Warbonnet) and BNSF 9683 (Executive/Grinstein SD70MAC) as the DPU. 00:00 Keenan Switch 01:11 Keenan Switch - Mountain Iron 01:51 Utac Loads - Kelsey 03:46 Utac Loads - Bear Trap Curve 06:46 Utac Loads - Munger 09:08 Keetac Loads - Alborn 11:17 Hibtac Loads - Alborn The original source video was shot in standard definition (SD) and up-converted to high definition (HD) using Topaz Labs Video Enhance AI: https://www.topazlabs.com/video-enhan... The Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway (DM&IR) (reporting mark DMIR), informally known as the Missabe Road, was a railroad operating in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin that used to haul iron ore and later taconite to the Great Lakes ports of Duluth and Two Harbors, Minnesota. Control of the railway was acquired on May 10, 2004, by the Canadian National Railway (CN) when it purchased the assets of Great Lakes Transportation.
