Originally written by The Vaselines, "Molly's Lips" was covered live by Nirvana at least as early as autumn 1989. In spring of 1990, one of the live performances was recorded to appear on the Fluid/Nirvana split single "Candy/Molly's Lips" released in January, 1991. The studio version was recorded during a Peel Session for BBC Radio on October 21, 1990 at Maida Vale Studios, London. Nirvana played "Molly's Lips" live at Reading festival next year with Eugene Kelly from The Vaselines. In February 1992, the song was released on the "Hormoaning" EP for Japan and Australia. The rest of the world had to wait until December 1992 when "Molly's Lips" was included in "Incesticide". By the time, Nirvana ceased to perform it live: the last known performance was in Madrid on July 03, 1992. It's a cute and simple pop-song and the bassline is easy to play.
