There is a specific kind of magic that only happens at Achray. On July 31, 2025, Liz and I headed out onto the water just as the sun began to dip below the treeline. We tracked across the open water and pushed deep into the marsh, eventually attempting to find our way into Francis Lake. We were ultimately turned back by a massive beaver dam, but it ended up being the perfect dead-end at a beaver dam, a "beauty" of a spot to let the paddles rest and just soak in the symphony of the marsh as the light faded. No wind, no noise, just the sound of nature and the lake turning into a giant mirror. This is the kind of ASMR I can get behind! Algonquin Park never misses, but this sunset was one for the books. 🛶✨
